The Story. The People.

Years ago, at a time when crew in the cruise line industry received their wages in cash delivered onboard via armored trucks, Stuart Ostrow saw the need for a better solution. The system in place was archaic, inefficient, and risky as several billion dollars a year were being distributed to seafarers scattered throughout the world. And crew members could not send money home unless they were lucky enough to get off the ship!

Mr. Ostrow’s idea was straightforward: why not leverage the emerging use of prepaid payroll cards adapting it to the needs of the cruise line industry? This would enable crew to receive their wages digitally and send money home while onboard.

The solution was timely and provided a win-win situation for both cruise lines and their crews. It would change how an entire industry administered onboard pay and has now been adopted worldwide.
